A welcoming parade for the Chinese army and the release of
10,000 homing pigeons were among scores of activities to celebrate
Hong Kong's July 1 return to Chinese sovereignty.
The events ran alongside the official ceremonies which included
fireworks and a midnight flag-changing ceremony,
attended by hundreds of international VIPS.
